Course Overview:

In this intensive two-day training, we aim to equip aspiring law enforcement pilots with the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to operate drones effectively in various public safety scenarios. As the use of drone and UAS solutions continue to evolve, understanding the history and application within American Policing is critical. 

This course will provide an overview of the fundamental components of Drone/UAS technology, dive into the historical context of use cases in Law Enforcement, explore the important legal frameworks including 14 CFR 107 and 14 CFR 91. Students will learn about the National Airspace System, State and Local laws governing the use of UAS/Drones and privacy concerns surrounding Drone operations. Students will receive preparation to pass the Part 107 Knowledge test enabling them to become certified as Unmanned Aircraft Commercial Pilot. Day two of this training will encompass practical exercises and live flights operations, risk management, data gathering techniques essential to positioning themselves as proficient drone pilots within their respective agencies.
